Benefits of green Tea

Green tea is one of the healthiest beverages in the world. It is rich in anti-oxidants and it includes lots of health benefits. Green tea is made from unoxidized leaves and is one of the less processed types of tea. Green tea was used in Chinese and Indian medicine to control wounds and bleeding , improve heart, aid digestion, weight loss, diabetes, mental health and body temperature.

Here’s a list of some of green tea's amazing benefits that you may not have been aware of. Some of these benefits are –

1) Skin Care- Green tea helps a lot for the skin, as it fights against the wrinkles and aging problems. It is rich in anti-oxidants and inflammatory activities. Green tea also helps to reduce sun damage to your skin. It is commonly used to prevent and treat a number of skin diseases including skin cancer. The anti-oxidants and polyphenols that are present in green tea are responsible for removing free radicals from the skin before they have the chance to attack the DNA in your skin cells. It also helps to protect your skin against UV radiation and thus helps you maintain healthy glowing skin.

2) Cancer- Cancer is caused by uncontrolled growth of cells. It is one of the world’s leading causes of death. Green tea is an excellent source of powerful antioxidants and it makes perfect senses that reduce the risk of cancer. 5) Cholesterol- Research has shown that green tea lowers harmful cholesterol levels and also raises good cholesterol levels. Drinking up to 10 cups of green tea a day has a significant impact on your blood cholesterol levels.Green tea reduces bad cholesterol in the blood and improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.

6) Healthy teeth- Green tea can kill bacteria, which improves dental health and lowers your risk of infection. Consumption of green tea improves health and a lower risk of cavities and decay of your teeth. Green tea may inhibit the growth of bacteria and some viruses. This can lower the risk of infections and lead to improvements in dental health, a lower risk of caries and reduced bad breath.

7) Weight loss- Green tea increases the metabolism. Several studies show that green tea leads to decreases in body fat, especially in the abdominal area. It is particularly effective at reducing the dangerous abdominal fat.
